Concreet betekent dit dat caf eacute; rsquo;s en discotheken die nog roken toelieten, vanaf vrijdag 1 juli 2011 volledig rookvrij worden. Met deze versnelde inwerkingtreding rijzen heel wat vragen over o.a. de criteria waaraan een rookkamer moet voldoen en of in een priv eacute;club wel nog mag gerookt worden. Onze federatie is momenteel bezig aan een geslaagde lobbyronde voor compenserende maatregelen maar ondertussen willen we u toch al op goede weg zetten: Rookkamer: wat en welke voorwaarden? Vanaf 1 juli zal in horecazaken enkel nog op het terras of in een rookkamer mogen worden gerookt. Een rookkamer is een ruimte afgesloten door wanden en een zoldering waar gerookt mag worden. De vereisten waaraan een geldige rookkamer moet voldoen: 1. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; Deze rookkamer is geen doorgangszone en is zo ingericht dat de ongemakken van de rook ten opzichte van de niet-rokers maximaal verminderd worden. 2. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; De rookkamer wordt duidelijk als lokaal voor rokers ge iuml;dentificeerd en wordt aangeduid door bijv. stickers, affiches enz. 3. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; In de rookkamer kunnen enkel dranken worden meegenomen. Bediening is niet mogelijk in de rookkamer. 4. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; De oppervlakte van de rookkamer mag niet meer bedragen dan 1/4de van de totale oppervlakte van de volledige horecazaak. 5. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; De rookkamer is voorzien van een rookafzuigsysteem of een verluchtingssysteem dat de rook afdoende verwijdert. 6. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; Het is niet toegestaan om een bingomachine, flipperkast of andere spelen in de rookkamer te installeren 7. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; Ook een automaat voor zelfbediening of bijv. een frigo met blikjes mag niet Is het statuut van een priv eacute;club een optie om roken alsnog toe te laten? Kortweg: neen. Ook priv eacute;clubs worden door de wetgever beschouwd als publiek toegankelijke ruimtes waardoor het algemeen rookverbod ook op hen van toepassing is. Met andere woorden vanaf 1 juli mag ook in priv eacute;clubs enkel nog gerookt worden in een rookkamer. De politiek in beweging voor compenserende maatregelen Dankzij de inspanningen van Federatie Ho.Re.Ca. Vlaanderen heeft ook de politiek stilaan oren naar compenserende maatregelen. Ook minister van Financi euml;n Didier Reynders belooft tegen 1 juli een lijst klaar te hebben met financi euml;le compensaties.
